Puyol suffers ankle injury
Barcelona defender Carles Puyol will be sidelined for around a week after straining ligaments in his left ankle.
The Spanish international full back sustained the injury in a training session on Wednesday.
The injury means the 25-year-old will miss the Catalan derby against Espanyol this weekend, but will not affect Barca boss Frank Rijkaard's team selection as Puyol was scheduled to sit out the game through suspension anyway.
Tests have revealed the injury is a grade two strain, and Barca are confident the player make a speedy recovery.
