Howard happy at Old Trafford

Tim Howard has expressed his happiness at Manchester United - with the US international conceding that it is difficult to take in his rise to prominence in the last five months.

Howard arrived at Old Trafford in the summer and instantly made himself with both the fans and Sir Alex Ferguson, who made the 24-year-old his first choice goalkeeper.

"Sure it's difficult to take in what has happened to me over the past five months," said Howard.

"But if you try to analyse everything you'll go crazy. I'm just rolling with it.

"When I heard that Manchester United were interested I spoke to Kasey Keller and he told me 'goalkeeping is goalkeeping.'

"That's the thing with soccer globally. There are certain tactics to the game that differ country to country but the goalkeeper has got to keep the ball out of the net wherever he is playing.

"It's been easy to settle into British culture and life off the field because it is similar to that in the US.

"The guys here have been great to me and I have a smile on my face coming to work every day."
