Valencia win Sissoko case

Fifa have ruled against Auxerre and in Valencia's favour, over the transfer of youngster Mohamed Lamine Sissoko.

Sissoko was educated in Auxerre's renowned footballing academy, but he left in the summer when his contract expired and joined Valencia.

Auxerre coach Guy Roux was livid about the move and protested when Valencia refused to pay.

Fifa have now ruled that the 18-year-old was a free transfer and therefore Valencia owe Auxerre nothing.

Chairman of the French clubs' union Gervais Martel was very unhappy with the decision.

"It weakens the conditions of the education in France," he said.

"This is a confirmation of our fears. Anyway, Auxerre will appeal against that decision."
