Farnerud disappointed with return
Pontus Farnerud has admitted disappointment at how his return to Monaco with Strasbourg went.
The Swedish midfielder left the Principality in the summer, deciding to join Strasbourg on loan after he had slipped down the pecking order at Monaco.
Farnerud was looking to put up a good show as Strasbourg travelled to Monaco at the weekend, but Didier Deschamps' side ran out comfortable 2-0 winners.
The Swede felt the outcome could have been different had Strasbourg taken their chances.
"We outplayed them in the first half," Farnerud told Sportbladet. "Unfortunately, we didn't convert our chances into goals.
"It was the same against Paris SG and Olympique Lyonnais.
"I still feel we are showing that we have got a high capacity."
Commenting on his time at Monaco, Farnerud added: "I really enjoyed myself there. It was just last season which was tough since I didn't get to play much.
"Therefore, I felt it was time for a change of environment. But you can always return."
Farnerud feels the two clubs have entirely different agendas.
He added: "At Monaco, the goal is to win the league every season. But if we finish in the upper half, we are pleased at RC Strasbourg."
