Villa target Lithuanian
The Lithuanian international has featured sparingly for Porto this term and Villa are said to be considering a deal to bring the 28-year-old to Villa Park on loan during the January transfer window.
The ex-Benfica front man has over 30 caps for his country and signed for the Uefa Cup winners in July 2002 and still has over three year left on his contract.
He became Lithuania's most expensive ever transfer when he switched from Belgian side Club Brugge to Real Sociedad in January 2000 for é¼2.3 million (£1.6 million).
However, he failed to establish himself at Estadio Anoeta and was loaned out to Benfica as Sociedad signed Darko Kovacevic.
Benfica decided not to take up their option to sign him, so instead Jankauskas signed a five-year deal with Porto and score nine goals in their treble winning campaign last term but again, mainly featured as a substitute.
In other news, The Villans' Swedish forward Marcus Allback is sidelined with a throat infection he believes he caught from his young daughter.
"I had fever on Thursday and got antibiotics yesterday (Sunday)," he told Sportbladet.
"It is something I have got from my daughter. She probably got it at nursery school."
