Bees lifeline for Bull

Millwall outcast Ronnie Bull is striving to earn a deal with Brentford after joining the Second Division club on trial.

Bull is out of the first-team picture at The New Den and has not figured for The Lions this season.

Earlier in the campaign, the 22-year-old enjoyed a loan spell at Yeovil Town and is now trying his luck at Griffin Park.

Lions manager Dennis Wise admits he is happy to allow Bull to train with The Bees, particularly as the defender will not be handed a new contract.

"Ronnie came to us and asked what the situation was, and he hasn't been offered a new contract," Wise told the club's website.

"We spoke to him and said that we can try and help, if there's anyone he would like us to talk to. Obviously, Wally (Downes) is a friend of mine and he is interested in him.

"The club have been good enough to say if you would like to go there and give yourself the opportunity to try and get a contract at Brentford, then do that and go down.

"That's what Ronnie wanted to do. He's fine by it. He's pleased that he knows now what is happening with him."
