Bolton 2 Leicester 2

Les Ferdinand's bullet header rescued a late point for Leicester City in their 2-2 draw against Bolton Wanderers at the Reebok.

Marcus Bent gave the visitors an early lead but goals from Bruno N'Gotty and Ivan Campo looked to have sealed three points for Sam Allardyce's side until Ferdinand struck in the dying seconds to grab a point for Micky Adams' men.

Ben Thatcher gave the hosts an early shock after ten minutes when he stepped up and cracked a fizzing free kick against the woodwork from 25 yards out.

The Foxes then took the lead eight minutes later thanks largely to some poor kicking from Trotters keeper Jussi Jaakelainen.

The Finnish shot-stopper kicked poorly from a back-pass and did not get back into position in time to prevent Marcus Bent's curling effort from nestling into the back of the net.

Allardyce's side came back into the game after the goal and duly drew level after 35 minutes with the goal being claimed by Bruno N'Gotty.

Thatcher and Riccardo Scimeca both went up for the far post header from Youri Djorkaeff's free kick and the French defender got the faintest of touches, if any, as the ball bounced over the line.

Bent drew a good block from Jaaskelainen as he shot from the edge of the box, and the rebound resulted in a yellow card for Campo as he kicked out at Paul Dickov.

The former Real Madrid man was in the thick of the action straight after half time too, as he put the hosts 2-1 in front with a low swerving shot from just outside the box that gave Danny Coyne no chance in the Leicester goal.

Bolton looked to kill the game in the remainder of the second half and looked to have done their job until the dying moments when substitute Ferdinand rose in typically powerful fashion and bulleted a header into the net from a corner to grab the visitors a hard-earned point.
