Grabbi returns to Italy

Blackburn Rovers striker Corrado Grabbi is to end his Ewood Park nightmare and return to Italy with Serie A side Ancona.

The Italian side have announced that they have signed the 28-year-old in a deal that runs until June 2007.

Grabbi arrived in England in a bold £7 million move by Graeme Souness which has been an unquestionable failure.

Grabbi scored a bag load of goals in Serie B with Ternana which prompted his move to England, but he flopped in The Premiership.

He was loaned out to Sicilian club Messina in his first season and after repeatedly failing to make the grade he has now returned to Italy for good.

Ancona were promoted to Serie A last summer but have so far failed to win a league match this season and look set for an immediate return to Serie B.

Grabbi will be looking to rekindle his career in Italy after a nightmare two-and-a-half seasons.
