Lauren keen for return

Arsenal defender Lauren is hoping to put a difficult last few months behind him by winning his place back in the starting line-up after injury and suspension.

The Cameroon international admitted he has endured one of the most difficult times in his career after making just one appearance in the last ten games due to injury and suspension.

Despite being back to full fitness and serving his suspension for his part in the Old Trafford melee Lauren has failed to regain his place in the starting line-up with Kolo Toure taking his slot at right back.

"I have not been out this long before. It is new to me, but I am a professional and I have to be professional when I don't play. You have to respect the situation," Lauren told the club's official website.

"It's good to get back to business.

"I feel better and I am fit to play. It has been a long time and it has been difficult, but now I feel good.

"I have worked hard and everyone has been supportive here, we have a great spirit at club.

"You always want to play and it is hard to miss important games - but I am okay now. I feel good now.

"When you are out for such a long time you have to be enthusiastic or you don't feel the buzz of the game.

"I will be very focused, I have to play at 100%. Once I am on the pitch I will try to play my game and not hold back."
