Zebina confirms Milan interest

Roma's French defender Jonathan Zebina has admitted he is flattered by interest from Milan but is waiting to see what his own club can offer him in terms of a contract extension.

Zebina has been one of the stars of Roma's scintillating first half to the season and is hopeful that his international career will be rekindled by his form.

Milan are eyeing the defender with interest - well aware that his current deal with Roma ends at the end of the season.

"When a club like that [Milan] - a club I think are among the greatest of Italy - it is always attractive," confirmed Zebina.

"It is nice and I tell myself that all my hard work has paid off.

"I am waiting to see what Roma are prepared to offer me but at the moment the chairman has other things to worry about."

Zebina scored a crucial goal against Juventus in Serie A earlier this season, and the player believes that it helped his own reputation.

"This goal has changed a lot of things," added Zebina.

"I have grown in the eyes of my team-mates, the Italian journalists and the fans.

"It has changed my stature - now I just want to be selected for the France team."
