Goodfellow agrees Robins move

Bristol City have agreed personal terms with Stoke City winger Marc Goodfellow in a deal worth up to £100,000 - subject to a medical.

The 22-year-old had talks with Robins boss Danny Wilson on Thursday and has agreed terms to join the West Country outfit, with Goodfellow to be made available for the club's trip to struggling Notts County.

The Second Division club will pay £50,000 in instalments for the player and a further £50,000 in performance-related payments for Goodfellow, who can play as a striker as well as a winger.

The Potters have also insisted on a sell-on clause in the deal, should Goodfellow leave Ashton Gate.

"Marc will have his medical first thing in the morning. There is no reason to expect any problem with that, so he should then join us for training straight afterwards," Wilson told the club's official website.

"He's a bit short of games because, like ourselves, Stoke have had a break in reserve fixtures over the Christmas and New Year period.

"But he's a naturally fit lad and the intention will be to have him in the squad for Notts County.

"I'm delighted to be able to bring in a new face at this stage of the season and thanks must go to the chairman (Steve Lansdown) for making the necessary funds available."
