Muller leaves Wolves

Wolfsburg misfit Sven Muller has quit the club in favour of a move to ambitious second division outfit FC Nurnberg.

The midfielder has failed to force his way into the reckoning at Wolfsburg under coach Jurgen Rober and was informed he could move on in January.

Muller was a firm favourite at Wolfsburg under Wolfgang Wolf and it came as little surprise when the now Nurnberg boss came calling, and the 23-year-old wasted little time in agreeing terms.

"Nurnberg belong in Die Bundesliga and helping to realise this aim is a big challenge," said Muller after penning a deal until 2006.

Wolf feels Muller can help spark Nurnberg's promotion challenge.

"Sven is a young and ambitious player whom I signed for Wolfsburg in 2000," said Muller. "He's a true all-rounder and equally gifted with both feet."
