Werder worry for Ailton

Bundesliga leaders Werder Bremen have been dealt a blow with the news that striker Ailton has picked up an injury.

The in-form centre forward will miss Werder's training camp in Turkey after limping out of the 2-1 friendly loss to Dutch side Roda.

"He has pulled a muscle in his thigh and won't be able to join us in the training camp. All we can do is wait and see for how long he won't be available," said Bremen coach Thomas Schaaf.

Ailton's 16 goals helped Werder to the top of the table at the mid-winter break, with the Bremen side sitting four points clear of Bayern Munich, Bayer Leverkusen and Stuttgart.

The Green and Whites must now hope that the Brazilian is fit for when the Bundesliga resumes with a home match against Hertha Berlin on January 31.
