Acimovic confirms transfer talks

By Jure Bohoric
Forgotten Tottenham midfielder Milenko Acimovic has confirmed reports that he is talking with interested parties about a move from White Hart Lane.

West Ham United are the club being most favourably tipped to land the Slovenian international, and a deal could even be thrashed out this week, although the player remained coy on his next destination.

"At this moment I'm in the phase of negotiating with interested clubs so I don't want to talk about names. Everything will be known on Friday," he told Slovenian paper Ekipa.

Acimovic arrived at White Hart Lane in the summer of 2002 from Crvena Zvezda after a relatively successful World Cup with a reputation as a goalscoring midfielder.

He made eight appearances last term under ex-boss Glenn Hoddle but struggled to adapt to the pace of The Premiership.

His only playing time this season has come for his country in two Euro 2004 qualifiers and with Spurs actively seeking midfield reinforcements, it seems Acimovic's future lies away from North London.
