Catanha close to Celta exit

Catanha's days at Celta Vigo look numbered after boss Miguel Angel Lotina confirmed that he was ready to offload the Brazilian striker.

The former Salamanca hit-man has been troubled by a groin injury which has kept him sidelined for much of the campaign, and has only made his way back into the first team picture in recent weeks.

However, Lotina has been critical of the player's attitude, and recently stated that the South American had not 'reached the minimum level demanded for the Primera Division'.

The coach's stance has infuriated the player and his agent, Inaki Azpizu, and it now seems that the 32-year-old could move on before the transfer window closes.

"I have several offers from Spanish and foreign clubs for the striker, Azpizu confirmed.

Catanha joined Celta in July 2000 from Malaga and has managed 37 goals in 107 for the Galician outfit.

However, with young Chilean forward Mauricio Pinilla having recently arrived at the Balaidos on loan from Internazionale it seems that The Brazilian could be surplus to requirements.
