Mallorca clinch striker capture
The Serbo-Montenegrin hit-man has agreed a five-year deal with The Islanders and becomes Mallorca's third signing of the transfer window after the arrivals of free agent Finidi George and loan capture Eduardo Moya from Tenerife.
The Primera outfit are reported to have paid around é¼3.5 million (£2.4 million) for the 22-year-old who has an impressive record of 47 goals in 85 games for Partizan.
Delibasic featured in the UEFA Champions League this term, where Mallorca spotted him, and also finished as the top scorer in his country's Under-21 European Championship qualifying group.
The youngster was delighted to seal his move to La Liga, declaring: "I am very satisfied by the contract as Mallorca fulfilled all my demands.
"I have already met my new coach and team mates. The atmosphere at the club seems to be very friendly which will help me adapt quickly to Spain.""
Delibasic's arrival will almost certainly spell the end of the road for Uruguayan Martin Liguera at Estadio Son Moix as he will occupy one of the four non-EU spots in Mallorca's squad.
Liguera has hardly featured this term and is likely to be shown the door by boss Luis Aragones, as was Jovan Stankovic to enable the arrival of Finidi.
Islanders president Mateo Alemany expressed his happiness at the signing of Delibasic, insisting the club had secured an exciting young talent.
"He has become a striker of outstanding quality and was extraordinarily coveted in the international market," stated Alemany.
"He will be an ideal companion for Samuel Eto'o.
"The club made a big effort to contract the player, fulfilling one of our main objectives which is to fill the squad with outstanding players."
