Cole committed to Blackburn
The striker has 18 months left to run on his current deal and is committed to helping the Lancashire club maintain their Premiership status, despite rumours linking him to Middlesbrough and Wolves.
Blackburn currently sit 16th in the league and are just thee points above the relegation zone after beginning the season with high hopes of finishing in the top six.
"Over the past few weeks there has been increased speculation regarding my position at Blackburn," explained Cole to the Lancashire Evening Telegraph.
"I signed a three-and-a-half-year contract two years ago and was happy to join the club and that remains the same today."
He added: "I fully intend to honour my contract. I have spoken with both the manager and the chief executive John Williams recently, who have assured me that there is no truth to the press speculation regarding my position at the club."
And the former Manchester United man feels Graeme Souness' side can still achieve a European place regardless of their position near the foot of the table.
"When I arrived in December 2001, the team were in a very similar league position to the one it is in now," he stated.
"We ended up finishing that season by winning the Worthington Cup, gaining a respectable league position and securing a place in Europe.
"I believe if we can put a run of games together this squad is still capable of challenging for a European position this season."
