Unsworth set for Everton exit
The defender will be out of contract in the summer but has been discussing a new contract with the club for some time.
It now appears that he is not interested in extending his stay at Goodison Park for just one season and is ready to move on to pastures new.
"The situation now is that Everton have made me a short-term offer that's no good at my age," explained Unsworth.
"Now we have to wait until the end of the season and see what happens."
Unsworth arrived back on Merseyside for his second spell at The Toffees after being an Aston Villa player for just eight days.
The player feels that claims he and his wife will be 'homesick' again are wide of the mark and he is ready to move to further his career.
"Nobody likes to uproot but if I have to move geographically, then so be it," he explained. "Location won't be an issue for me or my wife."
