Sutton moves south

Millwall have completed the signing of Raith Rovers striker John Sutton.

The 20-year-old brother of Celtic's Chris has signed a two-and-a-half year deal at The New Den after the clubs agreed an undisclosed fee.

The Lions have been chasing Sutton for a number of months and player-boss Dennis Wise (pictured) has finally landed his man.

Sutton has made just 24 appearances for Rovers, who he joined in the summer, but he has already grabbed 16 goals.

Millwall are now hoping that Sutton can make his debut against Crewe on Saturday.

"We are still waiting for formal confirmation from The FA that we have the international clearance that is required to enable John to be available for selection at Crewe," said chief executive Ken Brown.

"All the appropriate paperwork has been submitted by both clubs.

"However, given the number of deals going through in advance of the closure of the transfer window we are having to be patient, but I don't expect any problems."
