Zanetti ponders retirement

By Patricio Figueroa
Internazionale captain Javier Zanetti has revealed he has considered his retirement from football.

The 30-year-old insists he is happy at Inter and that he cannot imagine playing for any other club, but that the increasing negative aspects in football have made him consider hanging up his boots.

"I'm very happy at Inter and I can't see myself in any other club," said Zanetti.

"However, sometimes I see everything so false that in my mind the idea of leaving the game becomes stronger."

The Argentine international admitted that some of the criticism he has received from the Argentine media has made him think about his future.

"I'm very keen to play my third World Cup, of course. But when the press claims the national team plays without a right midfielder really hurts.

"It's really difficult to put up with that".
