Bobby's a happy Hammer
Zamora arrived at Upton Park as part of a £7 million deal that took Jermaine Defoe in the opposite direction to Tottenham Hotspur.
The former Brighton striker says that although he enjoyed his time at White Hart Lane, he was delighted to sign for The Hammers.
"It's been a crazy 24 hours but it's great to be at a team I supported as a youngster," Zamora told Sky Sports News.
"I've got a lot of friends here. And I know lots of friends and family that support the club.
"I enjoyed my time there at Spurs.
"I was delighted to come to West Ham and the chance to join the team I supported as a lad was one I had to grab with both hands."
Alan Pardew insisted that there would have been no deal if it did not include Bobby Zamora - a player that he thinks is Premiership calibre.
"Defoe was always going to leave at some point, because he wasn't going to agree a new deal," said The Irons boss.
"The question was, whether the case for him leaving was there for us, and I think today [Monday] it was.
"I think the fee was very good in today's market and more importantly I wasn't going to do the deal unless I got the services of Bobby Zamora.
"Although the fans will be disappointed by the sale of Defoe - they will be boosted by Zamora.
"I think he's going to be a major player in this division.
"He didn't get a lot of chances at Spurs but I think he is more than good enough to play in The Premiership.
"I want a side here that's young exciting and fast and I think I'm getting there.
"The fans' loyalty has not always been rewarded this season and I want to give them something to cheer about.
"West Ham fans want players who want to play for the club and are hungry and when Bobby pulls that shirt on they'll see that."
