Alexandersson agrees IFK move
The former Sheffield Wednesday man played for IFK before moving to England, and would love to end his playing days back home.
He says that he is prepared to sacrifice the wages from the rest of his Everton contract if they will release him ahead of schedule - as his current deal is set to expire in the summer.
"I am prepared to do my part and lose some salary if Everton release me earlier," Alexandersson told Sportbladet.
"In the end, it's a negotiation between me and the club."
The 32-year-old is building a house in Gothenburg and wants to return home - which contributed to the decision.
"It is a combination of sport and social reasons which made me move home.
"I am more motivated now than I would have been if I had played all the time for Everton.
"I would like to have a good ending to my football career."
The former Sweden international is unsure about his match fitness but hopes it will take him just a couple of games to get back on track.
"It's difficult to judge my fitness since I have not played in the Premier League this season.
"But the reserve matches for Everton are on a good level. Physically, I am in good shape.
"I believe I will need a couple of matches, but afterwards I should be able to play at a higher level."
The winger could be moved into the middle of the park to replace departed playmaker Martin Ericsson who signed for Danish club AaB last month.
