Sam's hurt at Jancker 'con'
Bolton had teed up a deal to sign the German international until the end of the season, with the view to a longer-term arrangement.
But Jancker's last-minute demands for a lengthier contract prompted The Trotters to ditch plans to sign the 29-year-old before the close of the transfer window.
The volte-face has upset Bolton boss Allardyce, who feels Jancker and his representatives tried to hoodwink the North West side.
Allardyce, though, revealed he had no qualms in terminating his interest in the giant forward once his motives became apparent.
"It was far more than a disappointment, it was a con," stated Allardyce. "His people attempted to con us.
"They were under no illusion the deal was to join us until the end of the season, with the offer of a further contract if things worked out well.
"They tried to squeeze a longer contract out of us but they were quickly told we were not going to be held to ransom.
"So we gladly put him on the next flight home."
