Wimbledon 0-1 Norwich
Norwich extended their lead at the top of the First Division to five points with a comfortable victory over bottom club Wimbledon at the National Hockey Stadium.
Darren Huckerby scored a superb first half goal to give Nigel Worthington's men their sixth win in eight games, while West Brom and Sheffield United were both beaten.
Huckerby and Jim Brennan also hit the woodwork for the impressive Canaries, before the game ended in controversial circumstances with Wimbledon reduced to nine men.
Norwich took just 16 minutes to score the crucial goal - Paul McVeigh finding Huckerby with a delightful 40-yard pass which the former Manchester City met with a first time volley into the top corner.
Huckerby then blasted an effort over the bar and drove a shot against a post, before Damien Francis had a drive from 18 yards touched wide by keeper Steve Banks.
Malky Mackay had a goal ruled out for offside as Norwich pushed for a second and then Brennan's 18-yard drive came back off a post.
City were unable to add to their lead but Wimbledon's hopes of salvaging a point were ended when Banks was sent off for handling outside the area and Mark Williams followed him down the tunnel for using abusive language towards referee Michael Ryan.
