Graz keep tabs on Asanin

Austrian outfit Sturm Graz are keen to bring Borussia Monchengladbach defender Sladan Asanin to the Arnold-Schwarzenegger Stadium should the Croatian fail to extend his spell at the Bokelberg.

Gladbach are keen to keep the 32-year-old, but as yet talks over a new deal have failed to resolve anything.

Sturm Graz are monitoring the situation and could pounce for the player although he admits his preference is to stay at Gladbach.

‚Ç£Graz is interested and we've already been in talks, but Borussia will remain my first port of contact,‚Ç¥ said Asanin.

Gladbach would like to keep the reliable centre-back, who has just returned to first-team action after overcoming a serious ankle problem, but their new offer includes a wage-cut and it remains to be seen if the former Slavia Prague star will remain loyal to the club he joined in 1998.
