Roma crisis unsettling players

By Nadia Carminati
Roma's financial crisis shows no sign of abating - and two of the club's most saleable players have confessed that they may have to consider leaving for pastures new.

Rumours have refused to die down that president Franco Sensi will attempt to sell his stake in the club, and the long standing talk that Brazilian midfielder Emerson will be the first big name to depart has continued.

"At the moment I am not thinking about it," Emerson told Gazzetta dello Sport.

"I want only to maintain the concentration in playing my game on the pitch.

"My agent has received a few offers but that is something I will look at in the future.

"Anyway, if I leave then the most beautiful thing would be to leave after taking Roma to a title."

Another player considering his future is France international Jonathan Zebina.

Zebina has been in fine form for the Giallorossi this season, but admits that the financial problems have unsettled him.

"We have been talk to the general manager Franco Baldini and he insisted that there aren't any problems," Zebina told Corriere dello Sport.

"Now it seems the club is in crisis and the president must consider other options.

"Roma are my priority but there have been offers from other clubs.

"I'll wait for a while and then I'll decide. Within two or three weeks I will be able to evaluate the offers and decide.

"I will only leave if it becomes impossible for me to stay."
