Dichio 'flabbergasted' at price tag

Danny Dichio has slammed owners West Brom for slapping a £700,000 price tag on his head - and preventing a permanent move to Millwall.

The striker has been in superb form for The Lions in a loan spell at The New Den, but has been forced to return after being told Millwall could not afford him.

"I was flabbergasted at the figure," said Dichio.

"I have only got five months left on my contract. I am seventh in line at West Brom, so to ask for that amount is a kick in the teeth.

"A bit of honesty and loyalty would have been appreciated after they let me come down here on loan."

29-year-old Dichio scored five times in his three appearances for Millwall, and became an instant hit with the fans.

However, Millwall are loathe to pay so much for a player that will be available for nothing in the summer.

Lions chairman Theo Paphitis has indicated that he will continue to negotiate with West Brom in the hope of finding a compromise over the player.
