Walker still stunned at clanger

Leicester City goalkeeper Ian Walker admits his own goal howler was the worst moment of his career.

Walker bizarrely handed Bolton Wanderers a point during Tuesday's 1-1 draw at The Walkers Stadium to ensure The Foxes remain in the relegation mire.

The England keeper allowed the ball to squirm under his body and then, as he tried to redeem his minor mistake, somehow nudged the ball over the line.

He has apologised to his Foxes team-mates for his faux pas and admits he is still stunned as to how he managed to concede the own goal.

"It was the worst moment of my life, a comedy of errors and God only knows how it went in," said Walker.

"You'd struggle to do that if you tried. How many training sessions and matches have I been through without that ever happening before?

"It will probably never happen again but it's too late now. It's done and I've just got to keep my head up and forget about it. I've apologised to the lads.

"You can't dwell on it. It happens. Why me? It seems something happens in the live TV game and it was my turn.

"I couldn't have picked a worse time to do it because it was there for all to see. It was just so bizarre and even now the feeling is just one of total disbelief."

Meanwhile, Foxes manager Micky Adams was at Fir Park on Wednesday evening to watch Motherwell against Dundee, with Spanish striker Nacho Novo believed to be his target.
