Silkmen trial Rickers
Macclesfield Town player-manager John Askey has taken midfielder Paul Rickers on trial from Northampton Town.
The 28-year-old appeared in The Silkmen's reserves on Wednesday and recently spent time on loan at Conference club Leigh RMI before coming to Moss Rose.
The former Oldham Athletic man has been trying to regain his fitness since suffering a broken leg in November 2002 and has only featured once this season for The Cobblers.
Meanwhile, defender Matt Haddrell has left The Silkmen and joined non-league side Leek Town following an unsuccessful spell at Moss Rose.
Haddrell failed to settle to the rigours of full-time football following his move from Vauxhall Motors in March 2003.
In other news, Askey has recalled striker Neil Robinson from his loan at Leigh RMI.
