Delgado set to seal move home
The Quito-based outfit have revealed that they are in talks with the player's representatives about a move.
Delgado himself admitted earlier this month that he was set to depart the club; now Aucas have confirmed that they are ready to seal his signing.
"We are having very intense negotiations with the agent of Delgado so I think that maybe in a week the transfer of the player to Aucas could be resolved," said Aucas manager Jaime Perez.
"In addition our president is trying to convince him and his agent, so if we reach an agreement the player would travel at once to Ecuador."
Delgado arrived from Mexican outfit Necaxa for £3.5 million in November 2001 - but he has been beset with injuries and has started just two Premiership games.
The Saints now look ready to cut their loses and let the 'Tin Man' return home.
