Rovers bring in Onuora

Tranmere have bolstered their attacking options by snapping up veteran striker Iffy Onuora from Grimsby Town.

Onuora only joined Grimsby last September after an unsuccessful spell at Sheffield United.

The 36-year-old could make his debut in Saturday's game with Queens Park Rangers, but he is cup tied for next weekend's FA Cup tie with Millwall.

Rovers boss Brian Little believes that Onuora will prove to be a great addition to the side.

"Iffy's experience and goalscoring record will be an asset to the club as we enter the final stages of the season," Rovers boss Brian Little told the club's official website.

"He is a strong character and will be a great addition to the dressing room.

"We have been looking for a big target-man to lead the team from the front and Iffy fits the bill perfectly."
