Oliseh faces the sack

VFL Bochum midfielder Sunday Oliseh is facing the sack after allegedly breaking the nose of a team-mate on Saturday.

The Nigerian international, a key figure in Bochum's recent rise up Die Bundesliga, reportedly broke the nose of Iranian striker Vahid Hashemian in a dressing room fracas following the weekend's goalless draw with Hansa Rostock.

The two players were seen to have had heated discussions during the game and it now appears that on-field problems have escalated into an off-field skirmish.

Bochum manager Peter Neururer ordered the pair to resolve their differences after the game but the reconciliation merely resulted in Oliseh headbutting his colleague, according to reports from the German press.

Bochum have yet to comment on the incident but it is widely believed that the talented former Ajax and Juventus midfielder will be dismissed for his indiscipline.

The German tabloid Bild has quoted Oliseh as saying: ''Hashemian injured me with terrible words.''

The club are expected to release a statement this week.
