LEICESTER TRIO CHARGED

Three Leicester City players have been remanded in custody after being officially charged with 'sexual aggression' by Spanish courts in Cartagena.

Keith Gillespie, Paul Dickov and Frank Sinclair are the trio who will be detained in jail, facing the serious charges following alleged incidents involving three German women in La Manga.

Matt Elliott, Lilian Nalis and James Scowcroft are the other three players, who have now been released, and will be allowed to return home with 'provisional liberty'. However, they are still said to be "under investigation".

Leicester's next Premiership appointment is not until a week on Saturday, when they face Birmingham City, but chief operating officer Paul Mace admitted at a press conference on Friday that the allegations had rocked the East Midlands club.

City themselves will hold an internal investigation into the matter but are obviously determined to avoid any conflict with the Spanish legal process.Leicester chief executive Tim Davies told the press that he was pleased three more players had been released, and insisted that the club were confident in the innocence of their players.

"We are very pleased that a further three of our players have been released," said Davies.

"Those three are Jamie Scowcroft, Lilian Nalis and Matt Elliott.

"We are working with our legal representatives to secure the release of the remaining three players.

"We are very confident in Spanish legal process. We are also very confident in the innocence of our players.

"We hope they will be return to England very shortly.

"The matter is still in legal process and Leicester City has no further comment."
