Baia Keane to see Roy pay

Porto goalkeeper Vitor Baia believes Uefa should ban Roy Keane for as long as possible.

The Manchester United captain was given his marching order in the UEFA Champions League clash in Portugal last week after stamping on the custodian as he came out to claim the ball.

The former Barcelona player believes the game's authorities should hit Keane hard for his offence when they decide his ban on Friday.

He has also denied he affected the referee's decision to dismiss the midfielder because of his reaction to the incident.

"Typically, people are trying to say it was my fault and blaming me for getting him sent off," stated Baia.

"But it is Keane who has no respect for the unwritten rules that a player jumps over a keeper when he comes out.

"Had it been somebody else I might have thought it was an accident but not from Keane."

He added: "Personally, I would not like somebody who does this type of thing as a team-mate."

Baia also feels that Porto have nothing to fear in the second leg at Old Trafford as they look to defend their 2-1 advantage from the first meeting.

"Manchester United are a side which has great history and tradition but in Porto they did not demonstrate that they were superior," the Portuguese international claimed.

"We are prepared for the battle of Old Trafford, but we will not be scared by the atmosphere."
