Anelka happy at City
The Frenchman has been constantly linked with moves away from The City of Manchester Stadium as City continue to struggle in The Premiership.
Anelka, who has notched 19 goals this season, has insisted that he is happy at City and has no intentions of seeking a move away from the club in the summer.
"I am very happy here and want to stay. I have a contract with Manchester City and I am playing for them at the moment and next season I think I will still be with this club," Anelka told the Manchester Evening News.
"I have always felt that the fans have been behind me. I am happy here and whatever they say in the newspapers I really don't care. I am happy to play with City and I think I will be here next season.
"I have never played in a side that has been so far down their league at this stage of the season.
"I played one season in Paris and it was difficult but not like this. But I think everything will be okay for us as we are playing good football. And I think we will play better and better and will win again quite soon."
Anelka has returned to training after a groin injury, but will miss Sunday's Manchester derby in any case through suspension.
"I just returned to training last week though I don't think the problem with my groin has gone completely as I have just felt it a little bit again.
"It is certainly better than it was before and it will be okay for next week.
"It has been very difficult for me not playing. I want to play every game and I have missed some big games. It was very difficult to watch my team-mates but I am behind the team and I support my team-mates."
Anelka revealed that he would be speaking to France manager Jacques Santini as he is keen to have another chance of playing for his country.
"I do think about playing for France again and want to play for the national team again.
"First I have to speak with the manager, that is it, we will speak together. I don't know if I will be able to do it before Euro 2004, but why not?
"It would be good for Manchester City too if I played for the national team."
