Inzaghi back for Lazio

Italian striker Simone Inzaghi has handed his Lazio manager Roberto Mancini a major boost with the news that he is fully fit after recovering from a fractured hand.

The powerful forward has been out of action for almost three months and after undergoing an arduous period of recovery, Inzaghi is now ready to stake a claim for first team football with the Roman club.

''It was unfortunate that in my best moment, I suffered this injury that cost me almost three months,'' confirmed Inzaghi.

''This last month has been helpful because I've been partially able to regain my fitness.

''Anyway, I have a big will to play and I hope Mancini could give me an opportunity.''

With Lazio chasing a UEFA Champions League spot and Coppa Italia glory, Inzaghi is determined to make himself available for what will be a crucial period for the Serie A giants.

''We are in a decisive moment of the season and I hope to help my team achieve the goals we are facing,'' continued Inzaghi.

''Next year, we want to play UEFA Champions League football with the Coppa Italia symbol on our jersey.

''Next year, we want to come back as real challengers in Europe.''
