Willem plan Kreek move

Dutch outfit Willem II are hopeful of announcing the signing of Michel Kreek within the next few weeks but any move could be scuppered by the player's preference to stay in Greece until the end of the season.

The 33-year-old, is currently plying his trade in Greece with AEK Athens but with his contract set to expire, the player has revealed a desire to return to the Netherlands in the summer.

The former Ajax, Padova, Perugia and Vitesse stopper has already been watched by Willem II technical director Gerard Wielaert and coach Robert Maaskant this season.

Despite Willem's desire to conclude a deal quickly, Kreek, despite having experienced problems in the payment of his wages, has revealed that he has no intention of leaving AEK before the end of the season.

''I just want to play my matches and stay in my rhythm,'' confirmed Kreek.

''Therefore, I will complete the season here and hope to play for Willem II next season.''
