Ljungberg not ruling out move

Arsenal midfielder Freddie Ljungberg has broken ranks from the rest of his team-mates, stating he would not rule out a move away from Highbury.

Vice-president David Dein revealed over the weekend that Barcelona had made a fresh bid for Thierry Henry but were rebuffed in their efforts, with the striker himself continually stating he does not wish to leave North London.

Sweden international Ljungberg, though, has reacted to reports Real Madrid are monitoring his situation at the Premiership leaders, with the goalscoring midfielder refusing to rule out a move to Los Galacticos.

Italian side Internazionale are also said to be admirers of the Scandinavian, but the former Halmstads star could not hide his joy at being linked with the Spanish aristocrats.

Ljungberg said: "Real Madrid is an amazing club and it is an honour that my name has been mentioned.

"I am playing for Arsenal at the moment and am happy - but I don't want to close down options for the future."

While Ljungberg is keeping his options open, Henry has made a statement of intent to remain by saying he wants to become The Gunners' all-time record goalscorer.

The ex-Monaco ace is chasing Ian Wright's record of 185 goals in Arsenal colours, and not many would bet against the Frenchman doing it as he currently stands on 151.

Henry said: "Ian Wright's record is interesting - I am thinking about it and, if I can beat it, I will be proud."
