JURY'S VERDICT: PHILLIPS
Phillips scored at the weekend in the 2-0 victory over Liverpool, and his overall play was a glimpse into past glories at Sunderland.
The diminutive striker has not managed to replicate the form that earned him an international spot, but many of you believe the outlook is positive for the former Watford marksman.
Remember, we publish a selection of your comments, so remember to include whether you think the player is a hit, miss or the jury's out and add some crib notes if you want to.
Andrew Scott: I think Kevin Phillips is showing signs of getting back to his best. With James Beattie alongside it has taken some of the pressure away from him and allowed him to relax and condentrate on his game.
Peter Andresen: Super Kev can be a major force for Southampton. He is pacey and is a wonderful finisher. If you are comparing him to the striker that scored so many a few years ago then the jury is still out, but compared to the striker in his last season at Sunderland he is a major hit!
Gareth Stone: Phillips is never going to be the player he was. Sorry Southampton fans, but I think he has to go down as a miss.
