Kaka's passport problems
The South American star had hoped to land EU status to avoid clogging up the club's foreigner quota, and would also make him a much bigger asset.
However, fellow Brazilian Leonardo, who now works for the club, says that Kaka has run into trouble obtaining the passport.
"I think that there is a serious problem, the lawyers of Kaka are handling this and they are trying to get together all the documents that are needed for giving him the EU passport," said Leonardo.
The principle problem is with the grandmother of Kaka because there is a mix-up over her Italian citizenship when she travelled to Brazil.
The father of the player, Bosco Izecson dos Santos, is actually in Italy working on this case visiting some parents that could help him to get the documents that are needed.
