Barca admit Trez interest
Barca have made no secret of their desire to bring in a world-class forward to bolster their squads for next season and have been linked with a host of Europe's biggest names.
However, vice president Sandro Rosell has now revealed that the club will be focusing their attentions on luring Trezeguet to Camp Nou this summer, with the French international still to agree a new contract with Juventus.
"Arsenal won't let (Thierry) Henry leave, Milan won't free (Andrei) Shevchenko, (Henrik) Larsson at 32 years old is too old," Rosell told Spanish television. "But Trezeguet is the right man.
"Trezeguet is an interesting player an he scores so much."
Intriguingly, though, Barca seem to be plotting a double swoop on Serie A, as Rosell went on to concede that Internazionale's Christian Vieri also remained a target.
With Patrick Kluivert set to leave the club at the end of the season, and Javier Saviola's future still far from certain the Primera outfit could be set to totally revamp their front-line.
"Nobody has offered us him directly, but we know he would really like to play with us," declared Rosell.
Meanwhile, Trezeguet has confirmed he is ready to return to first team action if selected.
The 26-year-old has recovered from a shoulder injury he sustained against Deportivo La Coruna three weeks ago and could well feature against Udinese this weekend.
"I'm ready for Udine, but the last word is the coach's (Marcelo Lippi) one," stated Trezeguet.
