Berbatov in Milan's eyes
The striker has been a regular scorer for Bayer, efforts which prompted the club to hand him a new deal late last year.
Despite being tied to Bayer until 2007, reports are suggesting Serie A giants Milan are considering making a summer move for the Bulgarian international.
Berbatov's agent has fuelled the fire by confirming Milan are looking into putting together a deal.
"Milan is currently making preliminary enquiries about the possible transfer of Berbatov," said the player's representative Emil Danchev.
"It is still in the early stages, so there are not yet any negotiations nor has an offer been made."
Danchev is not surprised by the interest being shown in Berbatov.
"Berbatov is a young player of huge potential," said Danchev. "It is normal for big clubs to keep an eye on such players."
Berbatov is refusing to get carried away by the reported interest being shown in him.
"If it (Milan's interest) is true, I would be extremely flattered," said Berbatov.
