Division Three Round-Up

League leaders Doncaster Rovers could only manage a draw at Oxford, allowing Hull to close the gap to just three points at the top of the table.

The 0-0 result at The Kassam stadium means Oxford continue to slip away from an automatic promotion slot.

Peter Taylor's Hull side took full advantage of their rivals failure to win by picking up all three points against Rochdale thanks to a late Damien Delaney goal.

Huddersfield moved into third place thanks to a comfortable 3-0 home win over Swansea.

The Welsh side managed to hold out for nearly an hour at The McAlpine Stadium but two goals from Danny Schofield (57 & 85) and a late strike from Anthony Lloyd on 89 minutes gave the hosts victory.

Torquay slip down from the automatic promotion places after having to settle for a draw at Darlington. Barry Conlon gave the home side the lead after just two minutes but David Graham equalised to give The Gulls fans something to cheer about on their long journey home.

Lincoln had Marcus Richardson's late goal to thank for their point against Kidderminster who had taken the lead through Simon Brown straight after the interval.

The meeting of fellow play-off hopefuls Yeovil and Mansfield also ended in a draw as Rhys Day's goal for the Stags on 79 minutes cancelled out Terry Skiverton's opener just after the hour mark.

Northampton continued their recent run of good form with a comprehensive 4-0 win at lowly Macclesfield Town as Marc Richards grabbed all the goals in a one-sided first half.

At the bottom of the table, Carlisle's hopes of escaping the drop suffered a blow as they lost 2-1 at home to Southend.

Leon Constantine scored twice for The Shrimpers, the second from the penalty spot, with Craig Farrell's late goal proving nothing more than a consolation for the hosts.

Cambridge enjoyed a much-needed win at home to Cheltenham with John Turner and Shane Tudor putting them 2-0 up in the opening ten minutes.

Paul Brayson pulled a goal back for Cheltenham but John Ward's team were unable to grab a second.

A new-look Bristol Rovers team helped ease their relegation fears with a thumping win over free-falling York City.

New signing's Danny Williams and Alistair Gibb both grabbed goals on their debuts with an effort from Adam Barrett sandwiched in between.

Boston picked up three points away from home with goals from Dane Cropper and two from Danny Thomas helping them to a 3-1 victory at Bury. Chris Swailes penalty on 13 minutes was the only joy for the home supporters.

Managerless Scunthorpe let slip a lead at home to Leyton Orient as Wayne Purser's goal with ten minutes left cancelled out Matt Sparrow's early opener.
