Blanc's Marseille return falls through
Marseille have withdrawn their offer to Laurent Blanc to join the coaching staff at the Stade Velodrome.
Both parties have been locked in talks for a number of weeks about a return to the club for former Marseille star Blanc.
Blanc is believed to have demanded becoming coach alongside current boss Jose Anigo, but Marseille have turned down his offer.
Marseille president Christophe Bouchet revealed that Blanc's demands would have too much of an unsettling affect of the club.
"A real love affair has been developing between the team and their coach. It would have been unreasonable from a psychological point of view," said Bouchet.
Bouchet added he was in contact with "four or five persons" to take up a sports director job.
