Duo sign ADO deals

ADO Den Haag have been boosted by the news that Jan Paul Saeijs and Youssef El Akchaoui have signed new deals.

There had been doubt about the talented duo continuing their careers with ADO, due to them being out of contract in the summer, but they have now pledged their futures to the club by signing deals until 2006.

"With the signing of these players we have taken an important step for next season," said general director Robert Langenbach.

Saeijs had been linked with a move to Feyenoord, but the 25-year-old defender never felt a deal would materialise.

"I have played for ADO Den Haag since 1997 and as a man from The Hague, I feel at home in the Zuiderpark," said Saeijs. "My heart lies at ADO and I have always said that I wouldn't move to another club for a little bit more money.

"In the last period a couple of clubs reported themselves and especially the rumour that I would sign for Feyenoord provided a lot of upset for the ADO supporters.

"I have always denied that, and I'm happy I can make them calm now.

"They are the most beautiful public that you can wish yourself as a footballer to play for and I'm happy that I can count on their fantastic support for the coming two years."

El Akchaoui, 23, is just as pleased with his new deal.

"In August 2003 I signed a contract until the end of the season and ever since I have done everything to prove that I'm of added value for ADO," he said. "After the winter break I got my chance and I grabbed it with both hands.

"With the extending of my contract the club show their appreciation for my performances and that pleases me a lot."

In a third boost to ADO, main sponsor Hommerson Casino have agreed to be their shirt sponsor for next season.
