Zico fuming at European clubs

Japan coach Zico has blasted European clubs for not yet releasing players for his side's World Cup qualifier against Singapore.

The former Brazilian great is currently waiting on best player Hidetoshi Nakata of Bologna, while fellow Italian-based player Shansuke Nakamura of Reggina is also not yet with the squad.

Neither are Fulham's Junichi Inamoto or Shinji Ono of Dutch giants Feyenoord - much to the anger of Zico.

"We are very near to the day in which we have to play against Singapore and I still don't have the players that I need," said Zico.

"Some of them are the most important players of the team and I still don't have them for training. This isn't the way I had planned that I was going to work for the Japanese national team."
