Nonda return stuns doctor
The Congo international was expected to miss the rest of the season after suffering a serious knee injury in just the second game of the campaign.
Nonda has battled back to fitness and marked his return to action after seven months out with a goal in the 3-3 draw with Ajaccio.
The doctor who operated on Nonda, Professor Jean-Henri Jaeger, was surprised that the striker was able to return to action so soon.
"When people told me he scored I was really moved, it is extraordinary," Jaeger told L'Equipe.
"I saw him one month ago, and he seemed very fit, but frankly I could not believe he would resume so early.
"Even better that he has scored. Nonda put in a lot of big work and showed enormous willing.
"You know it was not only a broken ligament. We can say it now, he also got a knee dislocation.
"When he first came to meet me, he even asked himself if he would play again one day. At that time, he was afraid but he had good reasons. We reassured him and he has worked hard. Now it is a great pleasure."
