Ambrosini admits Milan dilemma
Ambrosini is one of several players fighting for a place in Giovanni Trapattoni's plans for his Euro 2004 midfield.
With his place in the Milan side far from concrete, Ambrosini admits that he has considered his options but believes that it is best to stay and fight with the Rossoneri.
"I'd like to play more but I am well aware of my importance to this side," said Ambrosini. "I try to be at my best when I am given a chance.
"Have I thought about leaving? Of course - I can't pretend that this season has been easy but I have never been close to actually taking such a big decision.
"Being at Milan - part of a great club - is already a major achievement. What really matters is what I do when I am given a chance."
Ambrosini admits that the chance to play in Portugal is something he dreams of.
"I was called up for the last friendly and I hope with all my heart to go with my team-mates to Portugal," added Ambrosini.
"If that doesn't happen I will have nothing to reproach myself about."
