Lua Lua dropped by Congo
Congo released a list of 56 players to take part in their 2006 World Cup qualifying campaign on Wednesday and Lua Lua's name was absent.
The pacey and unpredictable forward captained his country in Tunisia but the campaign proved ill-fated, with Congo losing all three of their group matches and Lua Lua receiving a red card for violent conduct in the second game.
The Newcastle United man was severely criticised in his homeland over the incident and it now appears he has fallen out of favour with the Congo management.
The current squad was chosen by Joseph Mukeba, who is set to assist an as yet unnamed new foreign manager.
Monaco striker Shabani Nonda returns to the squad after injury, as does Dutch based striker Zico Tumba.
