Bradford 2 Wimbledon 3

Bradford City were relegated from Division One after being beaten 3-2 by Wimbledon, who have already suffered the drop to Division Two.

The Bantams had all the pressure on them at Valley Parade, as they knew a win was required to keep them up.

Malvin Kamara gave Bryan Robson's side the worst possible start as he gave The Dons the lead after just five minutes.

Things went from bad to worse for the nervous Bantams faithful, as they watched in horror as Gary Smith doubled Wimbledon's lead after 32 minutes.

Bradford needed something special in the second half, but just four minutes after the break they looked dead and buried as keeper Mark Paston's blunder enabled Wayne Gray to slot in a third for the visitors.

Robson's troops needed a miracle, and Kevin Sanasy gave them some hope after 72 minutes, and Danny Cadamarteri's strike three minutes later gave them belief that the great escape was on.

However, it was not to be and Bradford returned to Division Two after eight years, which has seen them twice play with the big boys in The Premiership.
